Blues Park - Walking Trail & Phase 1A Site Elements

Project consists of the following scope of work: demolition of the existing site elements (with the exception of areas/elements not within the construction limits or items not labeled for removal on the Demolition Plan) such as, but not limited to: foundations, utilities, concrete paving, fencing, gravel areas, trees, signage, and other elements as noted, construction of one construction entryway which access Holly Street, as well as the construction of a concrete walking trail which includes color concrete paving in key areas, trail markings within the trail surface, site grading, irrigation sleeving, and erosion control measures. All demolition debris will be removed from the site and disposed on in a legal manner (this means that no demolished items/elements/material can be disposed of or sold to any entity within the city limits of the Town of Tutwiler). The site once free of all construction debris and walking trail installed, there will be sodding and seeding per the drawings and of all disturbed areas.

Bid Information:

This project bid date has been extended to August 19, 2022 at 12:00 noon.

Sealed bids will be received at City Hall – City of Tutwiler – City Clerk located at 201 Tallahatchie Avenue; Tutwiler, Mississippi 38963, until 12:00 PM (Noon), August 19, 2022, for furnishing the City of Tutwiler with the following:

FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF: Blues Park Walking Trail – Phase 1A, 187 North Second; Tutwiler, MS 38963.

For the mutual protection of the City, City’s Consultant (hereafter “the Consultant”), and all subcontractors and material suppliers, partial sets of documents will not be issued. Therefore, all contractors intending to submit a bid shall obtain one (1) complete set of documents from the consultant in order for his bid to be accepted. This will also place the Contractor on the mailing list for possible addenda issuance.

Pre-Bid Information:

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on July 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at 187 North Second Street (at the park site); Tutwiler, MS 38963. All parties interested in bidding on this project are hereby invited and urged to attend this meeting. Failure to attend the pre-bid meeting will can count against said “good faith effort” as required by the M/WBE program.

Questions:

Requests for interpretation should solely be addressed to the Consultant either in writing or via email; no telephone or verbal questions will be answered. No oral interpretation will be made to any bidder as to meaning of drawings and specifications. Requests for interpretation will be accepted up to ten (10) calendar days prior to date set for opening of bids. All interpretations will be made in the form of an addendum and will be issued as promptly as practicable to all parties registered with the Consultant as having documents.

Note: no addendum shall be issued inside of five (5) calendar days prior to the date set for opening of bids, unless said addendum, delays the opening of said bids.

Site Examination:

Before submitting a bid, the bidder shall personally visit the site of proposed work and arrive at a clear understanding of the conditions under which the work is to be performed. No consideration will be allowed subsequently by reason of error or oversight on the part of the bidder or on account of interference by either the City or existing conditions. Neglecting any of the above requirements will not be acceptable as reason for delay in the work or for adjustments of the contract sum. Bidders must notify the designer (John Jackson lll) at 901-230-1321 cell and City of Tutwiler, City Clerk at 662-375-4646 in advance of making any Site Visits to the Project Site.
