Pre-Bid Information

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 10:00 AM June 2, 2021 @ 602 W. Mitchell Road; Memphis, Tennessee 38109.

All parties interested in bidding on this project are hereby invited and urged to attend this meeting. Failure to attend the pre-bid meeting will count against said “good faith effort” as required by the M/WBE program.

Site Visit

Tuesday – June 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM, Mr. Eric Alter, P.E. (CoM – GS Support Services) will be at the Mitchell Community Center Complex to allow contractors to view the inside of the facilities/buildings to be demolished.

Questions

Deadlines for Questions and Request for Interpretation: June 18, 2021 at 4:00 PM will be the last date and time contractors may request interpretations or ask questions for the project. All request must be in written format, emails accepted.

Bid Information

Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the City of Memphis Purchasing Agent, Room 354, City Hall, 125 N. Main, Memphis, TN 38103, until 12:00 PM (Noon), June 23, 2021.

Scope of Work

This project consists of the removal of all hazardous materials from the buildings and site. This hazmat material will be removed according to all safety and health federal, state and local guidelines/regulations and disposed of in a legal manner at a legal dump site for hazardous materials.

There is also the demolition of the two (2) buildings, outdoor overhead structure, all vertical elements, and all horizontal surfaces to include, but not limited to parking area(s), sidewalks, plazas, steps, rubberized asphalt play surfaces, etc. The contractor will then remove all foundations to two (2) feet below finished grade and cap all site utilities at the property line/public right-of-way.

Any utility lines above and below grade will be removed back to the property line/public right-of-ways. The contractor will grade the entire site to achieve positive drainage/runoff without affecting adjacent properties. The site will be sodded/grassed and must achieve 100 percent coverage before the contractor can be released from the contract.

There are no bid alternates for this project.
